Progress So Far
So far in our process of creating our film trailer for our film 'Corrupted Karma' we have discussed the plot and outlined our key moments which will be included in the trailer. I have researched the conventions of a trailer and watched many whilst taking notes of the most common traits in each one. Trailers promote the film and are an important part of the marketing process and aim to create immediate interest in the film before its release. I found that trailers tend to highlight the most exciting moments in the film without giving away the plot in order to attract their target audience. Because our film's genre is thriller I watched mostly thriller and horror film trailers to take inspiration. Thriller trailers have very quick cuts and the camera angle is constantly changing to add levels. The music goes along with the action in the trailer, and builds up when tension and the story picks up. Lighting is often dark and commonly the films are shot at night or in very isolated areas, creating a sense of isolation. Our Target audience for a film is 15-25 year old's because this is the age range who most enjoy the type of thriller this is. Our thriller fits into the standard thriller conventions because it is a fast paced film with a great deal of action, it contains fight scenes, murders and women which all adhere to this category.
